10 REASONS WHY YOU NEED HAIRCHECK IN YOUR PRACTICE
AREVOLUTIONARY
NEW SYSTEM
THAT MEASURES
HAIR LOSS, HAIR
BREAKAGE AND
RESPONSE TO
HAIR GROWTH
PRODUCTS.
10 REASONS
WHY YOU NEED HAIRCHECK IN YOUR PRACTICE
Measure Hair ... For The Very First Time
If you have patients with hair loss - you need HairCheck! Eliminate imprecise photographs and vague visual impressions. End the frustrations of hair loss management. HairCheck can generate an actual hair “score” that will guide you in all your management decisions.
Provides Meaningful Data
HairCheck’s patented technology measures the cross-sectional area of the captured bundle of hair, and generates a “score” called the Hair Mass Index (HMI) on its LED screen. The HMI is a simultaneous measurement of both density and diameter, the anatomic hallmarks of shedding and thinning.
Precise
HairCheck can detect the loss of 3 hairs in a bundle of 600 hairs! A one-step calibration ensures the reproducibility of results. A special locating device ensures returning to the same site.
Quick & Easy
HairCheck measurements are performed by your assistant. They take about 5 minutes, and not a single hair is cut. A training DVD is included. You simply interpret the patient’s “score” to make a diagnosis and management decision.
Detect Balding, Years In Advance
The earliest change in balding is an imperceptible reduction in hair diameter. Although not visible at first, a bald spot will eventually develop. A HairCheck evaluation can detect that imperceptible change – 10 to15 years before the balding is visible to the naked eye.
Measure & Monitor Hair Loss Progression
Measure the HMI every six months to determine the progression and rapidity of your patient’s loss. If the HMI “score” gets lower, the loss has worsened. If the HMI remains unchanged, the hair loss is stable.
Measure & Monitor Hair Loss Treatments
Before HairCheck, doctors could not measure a patient’s response to minoxidil (Rogaine), finasteride (Propecia) or laser. Now they can simply check for changes in the patient’s HMI to determine the efficacy of any hair “growth” product.
Satisfy A Demand
Hair loss affects an estimated 75% of men. Two-thirds of women will have some form of hair loss in their lifetime. Patients want advice, and assume it will be based on scientific data. Until now, the appropriate diagnostic tool was simply not available.
Introduce A Cosmetic Service Into Your Practice
Hair loss management becomes easy when there’s an actual “hair” value you can measure and monitor. Since the introduction of HairCheck, many dermatologists and family physicians, have added hair loss management (a profitable cosmetic service) to their practice.
Peer-Reviewed
HairCheck, and its prototype the Cross-section Trichometer, have been published in a major medical journal and textbook of hair restoration.1, 2 The technology has been adopted by hair research scientists and hair restoration surgeons throughout the world.
Haircheck Provides A Meaningful Numeric “Score”
For the very first time you’ll be able to determine “how much hair” your patient has. Once this “score” is established, any change will indicate hair loss or growth. With HairCheck you can track and measure the rate of balding and determine whether or not minoxidil, finasteride, or laser is actually working. You’ll be able to track the recovery from shedding that follows childbirth and discontinuation of a birth control pill.
Fact: A patient must lose 50% of his/her hair, before the loss becomes visible to the naked eye. 3 With HairCheck you’ll be able to detect hair loss, before it’s visible, when it’s still less than 50%. HairCheck can even detect and measure breakage – an underappreciated cause of hair loss in long haired women. 4
If It Can’t Be Measured, It Can’t Be Managed
Hypertension can’t be managed without a blood pressure cuff. And hair loss can’t be managed without a device that can truly measure hair. HairCheck makes it easy to discuss issues related to hair loss... and easy for patients to understand. Their hair “score” will become a meaningful and familiar number, like their body weight and blood pressure. With HairCheck, both you and your patient will think about and talk about hair loss from a totally new perspective.

WHEN PATIENTS ASK QUESTIONS
AM I ACTUALLY LOSING MY HAIR?
HOW FAST... HOW MUCH?
CAN VERY EARLY HAIR LOSS BE DETECTED, BEFORE IT’S VISIBLE?
IS MY HAIR GROWTH TREATMENT WORKING?
HOW WELL?
DO I HAVE HAIR BREAKAGE OR DAMAGE?
HOW SEVERE?
THINK AND TALK ABOUT HAIR LOSS
FROM A TOTALLY NEW PERSPECTIVE
HairCheck Will Forever Change
The Way You Think And Talk About Hair
Add Hair Loss Management To Your Practice
HairCheck addresses an existing demand. Pattern hair loss (balding) affects 75% of all men and 20% of all women. A significant number of patients with hair loss are in your practice, right now! Men and women with hair loss, who present with unrelated problems, will frequently ask questions about their loss. And it’s sound medical practice to establish a baseline value before giving any advice.
Patients understand the necessity of tracking blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol... and hair loss is no different. Once their hair “score” is established, they’ll be motivated to know if the loss is stable, worse, or responding to treatment. Because most insurance companies consider hair loss a cosmetic disorder, these office visits may be billed as a cosmetic service.
With Haircheck You’ll Be Able To:
• Measure your hair loss patient’s response to hair “growth” products.
• Measure hair loss and its progression with scientific accuracy and confidence.
• Detect very early balding in young men who appear to have no loss.
• Detect and quantify hair breakage – an under appreciated cause of hair loss
in women.
HairCheck Provides All The Tools You Need To Get Started
In addition to the complete hardware system, you’ll receive the marketing tools to successfully introduce hair loss management into your practice. These tools include patient brochures, counter displays, and promotional posters. We’ll even provide an instruction brochure of Good Hair Care Habits, which you can dispense to patients with a diagnosis of breakage. Be sure to visit our How To Measure Hair link at www.howtomeasurehair.com. It’s updated on a regular basis, and contains published reprints and detailed information about HairCheck’s medical applications.
HairCheck Provides Evidence Of Thinning, Shedding And Breakage With A Simple Numeric “Score.”
Haircheck Measurements Are Quick And Easy To Perform!
To Evaluate Hair Loss:
Use the 4-legged template and inkpad to mark the skin in an area of visible hair loss. Isolate the bundle and perform the HairCheck measurement. The score (Hair Mass Index - HMI) will be instantly displayed on the LED screen. For patients with hair loss that is suspected, but not yet visible, take a reading from the suspected area, and an additional reading from the back of the head where hereditary balding does not occur. Compare the control site reading to the reading in the area of suspected loss to determine the percentage of hair that’s been lost. Take readings at regular intervals to determine if the loss is stable, getting worse, or if the treatment is working.
To Evaluate Hair Breakage:
Isolate a bundle of hair from an area that shows signs of breakage. Use the J hook to determine the bundle size – no scalp markings are needed. Measure the length of the bundle. Place the bundle into the HairCheck cartridge one inch from the scalp, and take a measurement. Then without removing the bundle from the cartridge, move the HairCheck halfway out the length of the bundle, record the distance, and take a second measurement. HairCheck will automatically calculate the hair breakage severity score (Hair Breakage Index – HBI). Changes in this score, will tell you and your patient how well hair damage repair products and improved haircare habits are working.
HairCheck is a mechanical hair-measuring device. The medical diagnosis and management of hair loss requires a physician’s interpretation of the data.
Identify and record
